Kinesiology Minors
 

The Department of Kinesiology offers minors in Movement Science, Health, and Physical Education**. These minors are designed for students pursuing majors outside of Kinesiology who would like exposure to the study of the human body from a movement-based perspective. Students pursuing one of the five majors in Kinesiology are not eligible for these minors.  Each minor requires 18 hours of selected coursework from the KINE or HLTH listings.

**This minor is designed for individuals who want to teach physi-cal education as a second teaching field. This minor alone will not suffice for certification. To obtain Texas teacher certification, students must hold or achieve a bachelor’s degree in another teaching field and have completed the 31 additional course hours in the Teacher Education Program of the university. Students must also have successfully completed the appropriate state certification exams for the subject and grade level they wish to teach.
